Shackleton, 2011

This piece began in the fall of 2011 while I was studying abroad in Vienna, Austria. The text for the sticker comes from an advertisement supposedly placed by renowned explorer Ernest Shackleton in a London newspaper around the turn of the century. I stylistically modernized the text, and changed his street address to a new email address. The stickers were placed throughout Vienna for one month. The emails that were received then became the focus of the work.
